Victoria Falls –  world heritage site, Africa’s adventure playground

Step off the plane at VF International airport and listen carefully.  That’s the sound of the Victoria Falls and you will hear it 24/7/365.  No let up.

And that’s exactly what happens in Victoria Falls – it buzzes from the first helicopter flight at 07h00 to the last sunset cruise.

Victoria Falls is a bit like New York – it never sleeps.   You can take the lion cubs for a walk, or jump off the Vic Falls bridge on a bungi rope, or take a day safari to Chobe national park.

The Zambezi River in the Batoka Gorge was first navigated in 1981.
Over the years the Rapids were given names.
You might find rapids aptly named.

Here’s just a few.
The Boiling Pot, named after the churning waters here the Victoria falls meet.

The Wall, Rapid #1: an unpredictable rapid at certain water levels, the Zambezi flows out at the ‘Boiling Pot’ and crashes into a wall.
At higher water level this creates a large cushion wave. Cross over the wave train before the cushion wave and you make it look easy. Lose your angle and you could be looking at your first flip of the day.
