With over 450 bird species in the area look out for unusual ones such as the African finfoot and the half collared kingfisher.

Common sightings will include sacred ibis , cormorants, darters, fish eagle, yellow billed storks, open billed storks, rock pratincole and African skimmers.

Fishing
Banned for the spawning season Jan & Feb but a remarkable fishing paradise for the rest of the year. There are more than 16 species of fish in Chobe river. Catch and release policy for tourists is preferred

The Ngwezumba pans lie approximately 70 kms south of the Chobe River and comprise a large complex of clay pans, surrounded by mopane woodlands and grassland plains.
During the rainy season, the pans fill with water, then attracting wildlife that move away from the permanent water sources of the Linyanti and Chobe Rivers.
