Stanley's - Afternoon Tea

Stanley's Terrace serves á la Carte lunch, afternoon tea, sundowners, light dinner daily, buffet breakfast and table d´hôte menu.

Traditional English high tea and evening cocktails on Stanley's Terrace with a stunning view over the Victoria Falls Bridge and the Batoka Gorge. Cucumber sandwiches, scones, strawberry jam, clotted cream and lashings and lashings of tea.

It was in 1840 when Anna Duchess of Bedford decided that eight hours was more than one woman should reasonably be expected to wait for her dinner, and instructed her butler to bring tea, bread and butter to her boudoir at 5pm.

Finding this repast just the ticket for bridging the chasm between lunch and dinner she began to invite her friends to join her for tea. Nowadays guests make a point of enjoying Afternoon Tea on Stanley’s Terrace overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge, where adventurous souls can be spotted bungee jumping.

Stanley's also offers intimate candlelit dinners in the evening.

Jungle Junction

For something more “African”, The Jungle Junction Summer house has a nightly barbecue with ethnic entertainment.

Fine Dining - Breakfast at Jungle Junction watching the sunrise and overlooking the spray of the Victoria Falls. The Jungle Junction serves breakfast and dinner buffets with Shangaan dancers and local choirs as entertainment every night.

During the late 1940's, the Solent Flying Boat service, offered by Imperial Airways, became one of the more interesting ways to travel to Africa. This service flew from Southampton, England to Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Solent's landed and were serviced on a reach of the Zambezi river above the Victoria Falls. This stopover became known as the "Jungle Junction" and was soon the favourite stop on the route, as all passengers disembarked and stayed at The Victoria Falls Hotel.
