Unique to the Namib desert, the welwitschia is a coniferous dwarf tree thought to be some 1000 – 1500 years old.

As well as sheltered bathing at Palm Beach try the grassed golf course in a desert setting.


For the angler there is excellent rock and surf fishing along the 200 km stretch of beach which extends northwards.

Escape Namibia’s heat and head to Swakopmund, a holiday destination with promenades, pavement cafes and more. The town itself resembles a small Bavarian village nestling between the desert and the sea.

Looking for things to do? 
Take your pick from quad biking or a dolphin cruise at Walvis Bay.  The Welwitschia Plains drive is well worth the visit.
