Meremaid- Houseboat at Binga Kariba

A large fully air-conditioned pontoon house boat, Meremaid is moored at Binga, Lake Kariba.

Meremaid can accommodate 18 passengers, with cabin space for 12 guests.  This is a really comofortable boat, with modern decor and fittings. 

Cabins are en suite and are air-conditioned.

For the fishing enthusiasts there are three tender boats.  Just the thing for some tiger fishing at Sengwe.

Lots of facilities including a splash pool and plenty of cold space.  

With easy access from Victoria Falls, the Meremaid houseboat has all the ingredients for a wonderful family holiday getaway.

Binga sits at the western end of lake Kariba.  Roughly 300 kms from Victoria Falls, you can either self drive or road transfers can be arranged.   Note that the roads are gravel and the journey from Victoria Falls can take up to 4 hours.

To fish on he lake you need a fishing permit and these can be paid direct to a Parks official before boarding.  Don’t forget to bring your i.d. with you.

Remember also that lake Kariba is a national park and all visitors must adhere to the regulations imposed by the Parks Board.

Kariba is a malaria area so do remember to take the necessary precautions at least 6 weeks before arriving. 

If you have opted for the “catered” package, there is a good selection of menu’s to choose from from the brunch menu, 3 course menu to executive.  Drinks are ordered separately.
