A restful, split level restaurant with views overlooking the waterhole, offering a fixed price menu with an a la carte choice of dishes

Specializing in a superb selection of Zimbabwean dishes, fish, a variety of game meat and potjiekos (hunter’s stew) as well as vegetarian meals - diners are invited to sample ethnic delicacies and observe local customs.

Legend of the Royal Drum

Local Legend tells of a Royal drum that was one of four whose beat and rhythm were unequalled in the land.

But the sounds of the drum were lost for many years when the drum became disenchanted with its owner and 'jumped' into the Zambezi River.

With the passing of time the Legend has been given a place of honour in the naming of Makuwa-Kuwa Restaurant to commemorate our African Heritage and bring an unequalled beat and rhythm to the Land

Entertainment Makuwa-Kuwa Restaurant

The sights and sounds of the evening are accentuated by Ndebele performers who captivate guests with their energetic songs and dance.

Steeped in mystery, a witchdoctor can predict your future while the restaurant’s very own sangoma (traditional story teller) explains the country’s folklore, culture and heritage.

The resident Acapella performers- "Amazulu Cultural Ensemble" have produced a compact disc, which is on sale at the shop in the foyer

Smoking in the restaurant is only permitted after 9pm


The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is set high on a plateau that forms a natural boundary to the Zambezi National Park.
