Lake Kariba - Fishing

Lake Kariba serves many purposes: an hydro-electric scheme, a popular holiday destination, a wildlife sanctuary - but it is the fishing that draws anglers to this 300 km long expanse of water.

Here you will find the legendary Tigerfish, bream, tilapia, vundu, chessa and cornish jack.
You can fish all year round but best times are September and October when the annual International Tigerfishing tournament is held.

Kariba - At the dam wall side of the lake.

Great fishing grounds with over 40 different species of fish - not forgetting the crocs and hippos.

There is a wide choice of Fishing resorts, luxury lodges and Island resorts.

Cruiser or pontoon houseboats also available for rental.

Binga - Lake Kariba

Fishing at Matusadona in the eastern basin of Lake Kariba includes fish species such as Tiger, Bream, Bass, Vundu, Barbel and Tilapia.
