Type of Horses : Ex-Polo ponies, Arabs, Quarter horse-cross and Thoroughbreds. All sure footed, experienced and very well schooled by our talented grooms. The horses are all conditioned to seeing game. Between 14 and 16 hh in size.
Weight Limit : Maximum weight 210 lbs if experienced riders, 180 lbs if novice.
Tack : Mostly English style leather and Wintecs, some stock/McClennon saddles

Day One : Guests arrive at Miombo Safari Camp, have lunch and settle in. The Afternoon will be spent finding suitable horse and rider combinations. Followed by the safety talk over Snacks and drinks at the stables. Then back to the lodge for dinner and the evening’s entertainment.

Day Two : After an early breakfast we will depart from the stables riding through the Hwange estate reaching our already set up fly camp around lunchtime. After settling in the horses, lunch will be served and in the afternoon either a walk or game drive with a sunset stop returning to camp for dinner and stories round the campfire.

Day Three : waking to watch the sunrise with tea and coffee round the fire and breakfast. After breakfast we head out on the horses to explore the beautiful Hwange Estate, track and view game and simply enjoy being in the bush with the horses. The day is ours to do with as we like but there is the option to head back to camp for lunch, a rest and spend the afternoon on a game drive or walk. After dinner we spend the evening under a blanket of stars telling stories round the flames of our campfire.

Final Day : After morning tea and coffee, breakfast and packing up our belongings we will depart on the horses heading back to the stables. Here farewells are said and guests can move on to their next destination.
