Luggage packing guide
Maximum of 7kgs per person on multi-day safaris

  • Warm clothing for winter mornings and evenings being June, July and August
    A light fleece, jersey or tracksuit and warm socks
  • Shirts / shorts, swimming costume and T-shirts are sufficient, ( Neutral coloured clothing- khaki, green, brown, no camouflage)

Footwear: Comfortable shoes (preferably worn in) they will get wet. Track shoes / sandals are best

Equipment: Cameras, binoculars. Recharging facilities at office

Customs: Valid travel and health documents.

Optional: Fishing equipment & bait may be arranged on request


  • Anti Malarial Prophylactics
  • Wide Brim Sun Hat
  • Sun Block/barrier cream. The sun is the greatest risk on the river
  • Insect Repellent
  • Towel and Personal Toiletries
  • Medications
  • Torch/Flashlight
  • Spare Batteries
  • Rain gear is necessary from November to March - a lightweight poncho works well
  • A minimal amount of money is required on the trip - you may wish to purchase extra alcohol, sweets etc. en route

* Arrangements can be made for the safe-keeping of passports, credit cards/cash and excess baggage at the offices

Wilderness Packing guide Tips

Clients are asked to please keep their luggage down to a max 10 kg

Excess baggage and valuables can be kept safely at our office and collected on your return

Appropriate shirts, shorts, trousers etc in bush colors (preferably khaki, greens or browns). Long sleeve cotton shirt suggested for fair skinned including a light cloth to cover bare legs in summer

Prophylactics, sun block, insect repellent, personal toiletries and medications
