Motswiri Camp For a different experience in the Okavango delta, try Motswiri which offers walking and riding safaris in the Selinda Spillway linking the delta and Kwand0-Linyanti floodplains. Traditional activities such as game and night drives are also on offer, as well as canoe, mekoro or powered boats. The camp is small with just 5 safari tents - guests are assured of personalised service to suit their needs. Wildlife is plentiful - the scenery is beautiful and the team has more than 50 years experience offering low impact safaris in Botswana.
Lagoon Lodge This is one for the fisherman in an area perfect for spin or fly fishing. Catch barbel, African pike, Tigerfish, bream and a variety of tilapia. Self catering or full board accommodation is offered in canvas chalets with en suite facilities. Guma is approx. 280 kms from Maun on the north west side of the delta.
Xakanaxa Safari Camp A classic African safari camp and the first camp to be built in the Moremi Game Reserve. Double or twin bedded tents are luxurious with en suite facilities. Extending over the Khwai River, raised platforms provide maximum game and bird viewing opportunities. Explore the delta on night drives, walking safaris, fishing or off road driving.
Pom Pom camp Located in the heart of the Okavango in a private concession to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve, Pom Pom offers great Okavango scenery with game drives, night drives, walks and mokoro safaris as the main activities on offer
Gunns Camp Bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, is one of the last few remaining old-style safari camps and offers wet and walking safaris only
Baines Camp A small private camp bordering Moremi, the camp accommodates 5 suites. En suite facilities, 4 poster beds, ceiling fans add to the traditional safari ambience. In the delta wildlife is varied and spectacular including the big cats. At Baines experience a walking safari all year round or try and evening game drive. As landscape changes from desert to dry savannah, to lagoon and swamps - see for yourself cheetah, crocodile and elephant.
Stanleys Camp In true African safari style, canvas tents are classic and elegant reminiscent of colonial explorers and adventurers. Stanleys is reputed to be one of the best places to see large herds of buffalo (often 2000 or more). Sit back and relax on a mokoro excursion through the delta's channels. No newspapers around but you can "read" the local news on a walking safari tracking game spoor and signs.
Kwara Camp Located in the northern section of the Okavango, the camp's positon offers access to the delta's waterways and the dry areas affording maximum game viewing opportunities for guests. Tents are traditional style on raised decking with indoor and outdoor showers. All year round activities include walks, fishing, boat cruises, mokoro trips and game drives.
Little Kwara An exclusive camp in the heart of the delta within the Kwara concession, an area rich in wildlife. Traditional tents are en suite and have separate bath and outside showers. Activities are varied and include off road driving, night drives, fishing (spinning equipment provided, fly fishermen need to bring own equipment), power boating and game walks.
Chitabe Camp Located on an island in the south east of the delta. Luxury Meru style tents are en suite with indoor and outdoor shower. Birdwatching, night and day game drives and game walks all provide opportunities to see lion, leopard, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, tsessebe. At night be on the look out for the smaaller "cats": serval, civet, genet.
Chitabe Lediba Camp A small intimate camp in the delta's south east region. Spacious Meru style tents are on raised decks with en suite bathrooms giving panoramic views of the delta. Landscapes vary from savanna to islands and floodplains, home to elephant, lion, buffalo, cheetah and leopard. Antelope species include zebra, kudu, impala and tsessebe. Wild dogs are occasionally sighted.
Mombo Camp Located on Chief's Island deep in the heart of the Okavango delta, the area is renowed for its large concentrations of plains game and predators affording guests some of the best big game viewing in Africa. The camp comprises 9 en suite tents with indoor and outdoor showers. Enjoy and experience the magnificent wildlife of large herds of buffalo, elephant, white rhino, blue wildebeest, wild dog, hyena and more.
Little Mombo A "sister" camp to Mombo, this camp has just 3 luxury rooms under canvas with en suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. Game viewing is at a premium on morning and afternoon game drives. The camp overlooks the delta's floodplains with its large numbers of plains game and accompanying predators. Lion sightings are frequent and guests can also expect to see leopard, wild dog, cheetah and hyena.
Sango Camp Recalling the days of the early explorers and adventurers, Sango accommodates 12 guests in en suite meru tents. Bordering the Moremi game reserve and Khwai concession, the abundant wildlife moves freely in this game rich region. The camp is part owned by the Sango Family - the original inhabitants on the Khwai area. Get to meet them and learn about their unique lifestyle of living in the most beautiful part of Africa.
Vumbura Plains Camp Large luxurious rooms comprising a bedroom, lounge, shower and full en suite bathroom are built on wooden decks. Each room has an outdoor shower, plunge pool and a sala. Activities both land and water based offer superb opportunities for game viewing. The Camp is located in the far north of the Okavango Delta - an area of open floodplains and dense mopane bushveld. Wildlife you are likely to see includes lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard, buffalo and plains game. Xigera Camp Accommodation is 10 luxuriously appointed tented rooms with en suite facilities and outdoor shower. Each tent has stunning views of the Okavango's floodplains and lagoon. All year round permanent water allows the visitor to enjoy game drives, mokoro trips or motorised boating. Birding is exceptional with African Skimmers, Pels Fishing Owl, Slaty Egret just a small part of the bird sightings. The abundant wildlife includes red lechwe, lion and spotted hyaena. Xigera (pronounced Keejera) is located on a riverine island in the heart of the delta.
Okavango River before Delta - Lodges Good quality accommodation at affordable prices is offered in the Okavango Delta's panhandle. Choices range from luxury meru tents with Okavango river views to comfortable chalets. Not noted as a wildlife area, but excellent for fishing and birding. Lots to see and do in the area including Mahungo Game Park and the Tsodilo Hills with over 3500 bushman paintings
Linyati Reserve Accommodation list (c) Wilderness Safaris In this wildlife rich corner of Chobe National Park, there are only a few choices of accommodation. Camps are luxury and intimate and afford excellent wildlife experience. Linyanti is characterised by riverine forests, open grasslands and the famous Savute channel. Guests can expect to see huge herds of elephants, lion, leopard, buffalo and antelope species.
Savute Accommodation List (c) Colin Bell The Savuti offers a premier game viewing experience - large concentratons of lion - leopard and cheetah are also seen as well as hyena and wild dog.
