Bordering Matusadona National Park with wide open expanses of lakeshore and magnificent views of the Matusadona escarpment, Sanyati Gorge and lake Kariba.

With easy access to the Matusadona park, SPURWING is a prime wildlife destination with elephant, buffalo and lion being regularly sighted.

The area boasts over 200 species of birds in a variety of habitats from floodplain thru woodland to montane.

A favourite retreat for anglers and a photographer’s paradise. It's a relaxed family spot with no airs or graces. the whole feel of Spurwing is down to earth and relaxed

Spurwing Island offers 3 different styles of accommodation

CHALETS (3 in total)

stone under thatch with en-suite bath, separate shower, toilet and washbasin twin bedded with built in cupboards dressing table and chairs ceiling fan plug socket (220V AC) square pin mosquito nets rooms have french doors which open out onto a verandah optional double bed or extra beds for children.

Tents(11 in total )

Enclosed with two zip entrances - one onto a small verandah and the other into an en-suite bathroom which has a shower, toilet and washbasin.

Under thatch with stone floors.
Twin bedded with a dressing table, plug sockets (220V AC), pedestal fan and mosquito nets.

Two of the tents form a "double tent" which can be used as a family tent - each side of the tent has its own en-suite facilities.

Rates - 2010 on a Full Board Basis

US$ 120 | € 80 per person per night sharing

Inclusive of accommodation and three meals per day
Excludes : return boat transfers -

Marina to Spurwing is approximately USD50 per person and park fees of approximately USD15 per person per day, alcoholic drinks and laundry as well as 2% Government Levy

Catering

interior All meals are served in the centrally located dining area. The dining room is open sided under thatch. We can cater for any specific dietary requirements on request e.g. vegetarian, etc

* Game viewing options incorporating both the water (by boat) and land (by foot and by vehicle) - guests have access to some of the finest game and bird viewing in the country.
