Sightings Report - 11 August 2009: We had exceptional lion sightings this last weekend with a group of first time safari-ites witnessing a pride of 15 kill an impala on their first safari.

Accommodation at Rhino Safari Camp

6 x twin bed thatched chalets on elevated wooden platforms

Shower under the stars - each chalet has en suite open air shower and flush toilet

Full length mosquito nets

The chalet is open sided giving maximum views of lake Kariba and the Matusadona and allowing cool breezes

Rates on a All Inclusive basis - 2009

US$250 per person per night sharing

Rate includes accommodation, all meals, teas, coffees, snacks, laundry, sundowners, wine with dinner, activities including game drives, walks and tracking, sunset cruises


Boat transfer from Kariba to camp: US$ 350 (minimum of 2 guests - maximum of 6)

Water, Wild Animals & Solitude = heaven

The camp is untamed and unfenced and wildlife often wander through the grounds

The camp does not have electricity and is lit at night with paraffin and gel lamps

Each room has its own boiler with a plentiful supply of hot water for showers!

Access:

The camp is accessed by camp speedboat transfer from Kariba town — approximately one and a half hours. Speedboat transfer from nearby Kiplings/Rhokari Airstrips or Tashinga

Self drive 4 x 4 dry season only

The Matusadona covers an area of 1 400 square kilometres and is home to the big five, zebra, kudu, impala and various game cruiseother antelope and plains game species
