Wine Route Zambezi canoe trail

Canadian canoes are ideal for this section of the river.

Sip a glass of wine, a gin and tonic a beer or a soft drink while being paddled down the Zambezi River!

Free Transfer from hotel approx 2.30 p.m

Starts 3.00pm - Ends 6.00pm min 2 people

Paddle or be paddled down this beautiful flat water section of the Zambezi through channels too narrow for anything larger than a canoe and so hidden from the larger pontoon boats and noisy speedboats

Animals often seen are elephant, buffalo, waterbuck, impala and bush buck. birds like the African Finfoot, Pel's Fishing Owl and many more.

The silence of the three man fiberglass canoe enables one to glide past elephant, hippo and birds almost undetected.

Each boat seats two clients and is paddled by a professional canoe guide while clients sit back, relax and take in the scenery.

As the sun lowers, the trip ends within sight of the spray rising from Victoria Falls ahead.

Clients will be on the river approximately two and a half hours.

Transfer time to and from river is about 15-30 minutes

07h45 Transfer to Zambezi National Park where a game drive into the National Park for 16 kms allows for game viewing

08h30 Drift down towards Kandahar Island enjoying the river's residents of hippo, buffalo and elephants.
Learn about the rich flora and fauna from your expert guide.
Drifting quietly through channels and currents above Kandahar until the smoke from the Victoria Falls is a distant image.

12h15 Arrive at canoe take out spot

12h30 Barbeque lunch is served

A safety talk is given by your qualified professional guide before the start of your safari at Chundu.

Armed experienced guides ensure that you are safe and comfortable throughout the night

DAY ONE

07h15 Pick up from your hotel and free transfer to the meeting place

07h30 Check in where tea, coffee, fruit juice is served.
Complete the Indemnity Form and pay National Parks Fees.

07h45 Transfer to Zambezi National Park where a game drive into the National Park for 16 kms allows for game viewing.

08h30 Drift down towards Kandahar Island enjoying the scenic views, flora and fauna as well as the excellent birding.

There are regular stops for drinks and briefs by your guide.

12h15 Arrive at lunch spot.

12h30 Barbeque lunch is served.

Continue trip after lunch until take out just before sunset.

At sunset arrive at the camp where bush shower baths are already set.
Tent allocations are done followed by sundowners.

In the evening sit around a boma fire whilst listening to the calls of the owls and hyenas.

Dinner is served at the camp and overnight will be at the camp on a fully inclusive basis.

DAY TWO
After an early morning bush shower bath, a full English breakfast is served before the start of another exciting day on the Zambezi river.

This is a full day canoe trip with a picnic lunch served on the riverbanks.

Clients are dropped back at their hotel/lodge at the end of the safari which is usually about 16h30
