Various options and terms for Kariba Houseboats - with or without fuel

Some houseboats include fuel while others don't. The price for fuel can be quite large especially if you have air-conditioning on your boat.

The price of fuel in Kariba is US$1-20 per litre for both diesel and petrol - subject to change without notice.
Payment is to be made in US dollars cash direct to harbour fuel jetty.

 

Fuel EXCLUDED for houseboats

The average consumption of fuel for a 3 night charter is 300 litres

Fuel. The cost of the fuel for the motherboat is for the owners account. The tender boat fuel and oil is limited to 1 tank. Any excess used is for the clients account and is to be settled directly on completion of the charter

1. All fuel, i.e diesel for the main vessel, petrol for the tender boats and the generator/s

2. National Parks Lake Fees person for the whole week

3. National Parks Fishing Permits per person fishing per day.

4. Harbour Parking Fee per night per vehicle

5. Catering

6 Drinks, Ice, bait etc, which can be bought on a sale and return basis

Distances Permitted
1 Night - Charter may go only as far as either Antelope or Zebra islands
2 Nights - Charter may go only as far as Nyodza/Palm Bay or as above
3 Nights - Charter may go only as far as Palm Bay/Sanyati West
4 Nights - Charter may go only as far as Gordan's Bay
5 Nights - Charter may go only as far as Elephant Point
6 Nights - Charter may go only as far as Umi River

Binga based houseboats elephant

The normal destination from Binga is Sengwa basin which is a protected bay

with good fishing - but it takes a day to get there and a day to get back

so the normal minimum charter is 3 nights.

No fishing rod hire is available, some boats keep only basic rods

There are no places to purchase tackle packs so please bring your own

Ice and bait can be pre -ordered
