Houseboat Fuel options

Various options and terms for Kariba Houseboats - with or without fuel

Some houseboats include fuel while others don't. The price for fuel can be quite large especially if you have air-conditioning on your boat.

Fuel EXCLUDED for houseboats

« Fuel. The cost of the fuel is to the clients account for the duration of the charter and is to be settled directly on completion of the charter.

The average consumption of fuel for a 3 night charter is

300 litres at approx US$ 1 /L ( dependant on the oil price and R.O.E)

Fuel INCLUDED in the price for Houseboats

« Fuel. The cost of the fuel for the motherboat is for the owners account. The tender boat fuel and oil is limited to 1 tank. Any excess used is for the clients account and is to be settled directly on completion of the charter

- Fuel for mother boat and 1 tank of fuel for tender boats
- Hire of houseboat
- 15% Sales Tax
- 2% Tourism Levy
- cutlery, crockery and linen.
- The use of the tender boats and service of crew as specified on the webpage

Points to be aware of prior to booking

Binga based houseboats - Map

The normal destination from Binga is Sengwa basin which is a protected bay with good fishing - but it takes a day to get there and a day to get back so the normal minimum charter is 3 nights.
No fishing rod hire is available, some boats keep only basic rods
There are no places to purchase tackle packs so please bring your own
Ice and bait can be pre -ordered
There is a QuickSpar to purchase pre-ordered drinks and ice
There is secure parking
Self-catering clients: Please provide cleaning materials such as dishwashing liquid, matches, air-freshner, toilet rolls etc

Distances Permitted
1 Night Charter may go only as far as either Antelope or Zebra islands
2 Night Charter may go only as far as Nyodza/Palm Bay or as above
3 Night Charter may go only as far as Palm Bay/Sanyati West
4 Night Charter may go only as far as Gordan's Bay
5 Night Charter may go only as far as Elephant Point
6 Night Charter may go only as far as Umi River

Most boats have the above limits but is flexible for some boats. We can assist you

Fishing rods can be hired from a specialist shop
Tackle packs can be purchased
Drinks and ice can be purchased on site or pre ordered
There is secure parking
Self-catering clients: Please provide cleaning materials such as dishwashing liquid, matches, air-freshner, toilet rolls etc
