Cross border guide to Chobe national park and Kasane
By Air
• The easiest and cheapest is to fly to Victoria Falls or Livingstone
airports from Johannesburg (daily flights) and then road transfer the
90 kms to Chobe. We can arrange this for you

Namibia Scheduled flights from Windhoek to Kasane
- Tarred road from South Africa to Kasane via Francistown
- Fom Windhoek -Namibia
a) Trans Kalahari B6 through Gobabis to Ghanzi in
Botswana and on to Maun, then Nata and finally Kasane [Chobe].
[The direct route between Maun (Okavango) to Kasane (Chobe) is a dirt
road and suitable for 4x4 wheel drives only - approx 8 hrs]
OR
b) The Trans Caprivi Highway, links central Namibia via Grootfontein,
Rundu, Bagani & Katima Mulilo to the Chobe Game Reserve
- The river border between Botswana and Zambia. A ferry carries 2
trucks, 1 car, and a limited number of foot passengers per trip
- A bridge crosses the Chobe river from Botswana to Namibia at Ngoma
- A bridge crosses the Zambezi from Namibia to Zambia at Schuckmansburg
Travelling from Maun (Okavango) to Kasane(Chobe)
Direct from Maun to Kasane via Moremi game park is 4x4 road only and
takes at least 8 hours and normally requires a stop in The Savuti region
or alternatively sedan cars can travel on a tarred
road from Maun via Nata to Kasane [616 kms]
By Coach
- Intercape Mainliner,
luxury coach with music, videos, toilets and air conditioning.
Departs Sundays and Wednesdays at 10h30 from Victoria falls
- NamVic Shuttle (Windhoek to Victoria Falls Shuttle)
Running an air-conditioned VW Combi bus once a week from Windhoek
to the Falls and back .Stops Friday on its way to the Falls, and Sunday
