Ridge Walking Trail - Beneath The Zambian SunDay 1: On arrival at Mfuwe International Airport you will be met by a representative and transferred to Puku Ridge Tented Camp in the South Luangwa National Park. Puku Ridge is a luxury tented camp situated among the trees overlooking a sweeping expanse of the fertile Kakumbi dambo. During your 2 night stay at Puku Ridge Tented Camp the option is open
to either drive in an open safari vehicle or to walk under the guidance
of your professional guide in one of the most scenic National Parks
in Zambia. Day 2: Another day of game drives or walking in the
flood plains. Good sightings of elephants, lion, leopard, wild dog,
buffalo and giraffe. Mbulu Leg ************** 
Day 3: After an early continental breakfast you will
depart with your professional guide and a National Parks Scout on the
95km road transfer to the Chibembe Hub walking concession.
This transfer is a game drive through the park and will take approximately four and a half hours. On arrival at the Luangwa River at midday, a picnic lunch will be provided. After lunch you will cross the Luangwa River by banana boat and commence the 2 to 3 hour walk to Mbulu. The Mbulu site is on the banks of the Kasansanya (flowing water) River which is a tributary of the Luangwa River. This is a very shady site with beautiful big ebony trees. This is an excellent area for leopards and the site overlooks a colony of Carmine bee-eaters. Great walks from the camp include a walk to the Luangwa Waffa (an inland
lagoon, teeming with bird and wildlife). Good sightings of Eland in
this area. Two nights will be spent exploring this area from your mobile
tented camp in the well shaded Ebony grove Day 4: Another day spent walking and exploring in
the Mbulu area. Kasansanya Leg ***********
OVERNIGHT KASANSANYA Day 6: After breakfast you will depart on the 5 hour
game drive back to Chichele Presidential Lodge. A picnic brunch will
be provided en route. The Lodge has a magnificent hilltop site with
sumptuous, air-conditioned accommodation. A turn of the century hunting
lodge atmosphere completes the picture and provides you with a luxurious
final night in the South Luangwa National Park. Day 7: After an early morning game drive and breakfast, transfer back to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka International Airport and onward connections. Rates for 2007 : Open 15 June - 31 OctoberZambian

Day 5: After an Early morning continental breakfast
you will depart for Kasansanya where you will spend the last night.
Also situated on the banks of the Kasansanya River and a little closer
to the confluence to the Luangwa, this site nestles under a grove of
Mahogany Trees. This area has interesting woodland birds and large herds
of Buffalo and therefore lots of Lion. Interesting walks in this area
include walks to the Baobab trees and Hippo Bend, which is a lagoon
filled with hundreds and hundreds of Hippo.
