Over the past 150 years or so Hambukushu, Dxeriku, and Bugakwe have inhabited the Panhandle and the Magwegqana in the northeastern Delta.

Xanekwe have inhabited the Panhandle and the area along the Boro River through the Delta, as well as the area along the Boteti River.

The Wayeyi have inhabited the area around Seronga as well as the southern Delta around Maun, and a few Wayeyi live in their ancestral home in the Caprivi Strip

Further, the Okavango Delta has been under the political control of the Batawana for several hundred years.

But it is Chobe’s elephants that take centre stage at this theatre of wildlife.

Currently estimated at around 120 000, the Chobe elephant makes seasonal movements of up to 200 kms. Travelling from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers where they concentrate in the dry season, then moving to the pans in the southeast of the park when the rains come.

Kalahari

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is remote and the largest reserve in southern Africa.
Here a vast landscape of endless skies and space greet the visitor.

And here too is the home of the San Bushman.
