DAY 1 - Monday

• Depart Durban and drive along the spectacular coastal road to Ramsgate before crossing the Mtamvuna River into the beautiful and scenic Eastern Cape region, home of the Xhosa people, with its endless hillsides of traditional huts and villages.

• Just outside of Lusikisiki drive past the Magwa tea plantation, where the landscape changes drastically to deep gorges filled with lush vegetation and waterfalls.

• Descending through the Mqaba forest we reach Pondoland’s best kept secret, situated at the mouth of the Mbotyi River and tidal estuary. A tasteful dinner is served at the lodge.

DAY 2 - Tuesday

• Start the day with a hearty breakfast before visiting the Magwa Tea Estate. This area is characterised by rolling hills, deep gorges and spectacular waterfalls.

• Visit the plantation and see how tea is grown and processed. Take in the wonderful view of the Magwe falls.

• Return back to the lodge for lunch (not included). Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure sitting next to the pool or, for the more adventurous, take a walking trail along the coast down to Shark Point, a walk that could turn out to be a whale and dolphin watchers dream.

• Dinner at the lodge.

DAY 3 - Wednesday

• After breakfast depart the lodge and head towards the town of Port St Jones, an area filled with a history of shipwrecks from a 10 000 ton passenger liner to several sailing yachts.

• Stop at Mthatha and experience a typical African city with its street markets and traders. Visit the Nelson Mandela Museum and Mr Mandela’s home village of Qunu. The afternoon drive continues inland via lush valleys and forests to an overnight stop in East London

DAY 4 - Thursday

After breakfast, depart from the hotel and visit a pineapple plantation and Grahamstown, 'the city of churches', which boasts a wide variety of interesting sites including schools, Rhodes University , historical early settler architecture and monuments.

• Here we also visit the fascinating Camera Obscura giving you a bird's eye-view of the city.

DAY 5 - Friday

• Early morning nature walk or drive through the, passing through a scenic natural valley where indigenous antelope and zebra roam and continuing up onto a grassy ridge that overlooks an uninterrupted vista of beach and sky.

• Arrive back at the lodge for a hearty breakfast.

• Depart and spend the rest of the afternoon in the Addo Elephant National Park

• The day ends at your Port Elizabeth beachfront hotel. Freshen up for dinner at a local restaurant or in the hotel’s dining room.

DAY 6 - Saturday

• Departing Port Elizabeth we enter the Garden Route via the high forests of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the
Bloukrans and Groot River Passes.

• Stunning scenery awaits us as we cross the bridge over the Storms River (lots of photographic opportunities).

• After lunch at the scenic Storms River mouth (not included), our journey continues via the 'millionaires' playground' of Plettenberg Bay to South Africa’s 'oyster capital', Knysna.

• After a short refreshment stop at Knysna’s East Head we continue via Sedgefield to the quaint seaside village of Wilderness.

DAY 7 - Sunday

TIGK TOUR - Nature’s Beauty and Nostalgia

• From our hotel in Wilderness, we travel to Knysna to embark on the Featherbed Nature Reserve ferry from the
Knysna Waterfront.

• On arrival we take a ‘Unimog’ (tractor driven wagon) ride to the top of the Western Head.

• An optional hike can be taken through the indigenous Knysna forest to the restaurant area where lunch
(included) is served.

• On our return to Knysna we depart for an elephant experience, where we are able to enjoy a very close encounter with these gigantic mammals. Finally we take the scenic drive back to Wilderness for drop off at your hotel

DAY 8 - Monday

TIGO TOUR - Klein Karoo Kaleidoscope
• Experience the stunning views of the Outeniqua Pass as we travel towards the Klein Karoo’s capital - Oudtshoorn.

• Here we visit the Safari Ostrich Ranch where we are given fun and detailed information about these
strange flightless birds and their magnificent plumage.

• After enjoying a traditional ostrich lunch (included), we
proceed on to the world famous Cango Caves, where a guided tour allows us to explore the ancient stalagmites
and stalactites.

• We are then introduced to some rare and endangered animals on a fully guided tour at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. The day concludes with a scenic drive back to Wilderness where you will be dropped off at your hotel

DAY 9 - Monday

After a sumptuous breakfast, our journey to Cape Town begins. After a visit to Mossel Bay, we travel over the majestic Tradouw's Pass toward Barrydale. Enjoy a wine tasting before you sit down to a real South African lunch in a typical country restaurant in Barrydale.

Continuing through the Little Karoo, we drive through Montagu, a quaint country village.
We traverse Kogmanskloof Pass to the town of Robertson and Worcester. We continue over the Du Toits Kloof Pass with stunning views over the Paarl valley to Cape Town. The adventure ends by being dropped off at your hotel or at the airport
