Ilala’s Palm Restaurant is an elegant colonial terrace restaurant offering an a la carte menu of international and local dishes. .

Dining outside under the African night sky amidst the sound of the mighty waterfall makes for a romantic evening to be long remembered.

They have an extensive wine list and also serve cocktails.

The service is great, and our waiter even brought us some crocodile ‘nuggets’ to taste before we made our dinner meal choice. The food is beautifully presented and the atmosphere amazing.

The hotel also has a poolside pub called the Tobota Pub, serving sundowners and pre-dinner drinks in the evening, and all kinds of cocktails and thirst quenchers during the day.

If you have any special dietary requirements – the chef will gladly sit with you and discuss your meal options. We do however ask that you inform us of your specific needs in advance to allow ample preparation time.

Pan fried crocodile fingers served with fresh lemon

MUSHROOM MELTS
Deep-fried mushrooms filled with a duxelle of vegetables, garlic and white wine, served with spicy tomato concasse

SALAD NICOISE
Green salad, garnished with egg quarters, tomato, potato, tuna and fillets of anchovies, olives, capers and creamy lemon dressing

PALM SALAD
Garden fresh spinach, topped with bread croutons, crispy bacon and light garlic dressing

MAIN MEAL

SPICY VEGETABLES IN A CRISPY BASKET
Mild curried vegetables served in a crispy basket with rice and and sambals

Lasagne plates and farm fresh seasonal vegetables topped with cheese sauce and breadcrumbs

ZAMBEZI BREAM AND CAPE SALMON ROULADE
Poached roulade of bream, salmon and spinach served with a delicate white wine sauce, mussels and mushrooms

Fillet of Kingclip poached or grilled with a Zimbabwean sparkling wine lemon sauce

SESAME SEED CHICKEN
Chicken breast folded around Vumba cheese, rolled in sesame seeds and served with a lemon cream sauce

Saute chicken breast strips in creamy sherry and mushroom sauce

T-BONE STEAK - FOR THE BIG EATERS
Prime Zimbabwean beef cooked as you like it in our char griller, with mushroom, garlic or pepper sauce

Char grilled ostrich medallions with a gooseberry glaze
