The Boma is adjacent to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge complex and transport to and from the restaurant is provided from all hotels in Victoria Falls at a reasonable rate.

Partially open to the African skies and sheltered by the indigenous Gusu forest lies the award winning Boma restaurant. - Place of Eating, which is not just another ethnic restaurant, but a cultural experience.

The decor places an emphasis on traditional Ndebele colours and style, while subtle lighting enhances natural trees, rocks and grasses.

Traditional Services:

Guests are welcomed with a traditional greeting in Shona and Ndebele, the local languages.

They are invited to take part in a hand washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks.

Cuisine

Specializing in a superb selection of traditional Zimbabwean dishes, fish, a variety of game meat and potjiekos (hunter's stew) - as well as vegetarian meals - diners are invited to sample such ethnic delicacies as deep fried kapenta and groundnuts or mopane worm in peanut butter. For the less adventurous, a selection of beef, pork and chicken meat is also available.

Entertainment

A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates the energy of the traditional Ndebele and Shangaan dancers who perform nightly around the Boma fire.

Steeped in mystery, a witchdoctor adds a touch of drama by predicting the future.

After dinner guests are invited to wile away the evening with the restaurant's very own sangoma - a traditional story teller - to learn more about the country's folk-lore, culture and heritage.

The ladies can have the opportunity to have their hair braided in the traditional way

Dress:

Guests should dress casually and bring along warm clothing (windcheater /sweater) in the months of May, June, July and August

The Boma Shop:

An on-site shop sells some of the frequently requested accessories such as The Boma cruet sets, potjies, polo shirts and caps. In addition, tapes of our traditional entertainment are a favourite memento

Seating Capacity:

The restaurant seats 250 in the dry season (April to October) and 180 in the rainy season (November to April).

Exclusive use of The Boma can be arranged for a minimum of 180 covers.

Exclusive bookings for less than this may be negotiated on a payment of a premium, and we can assist with themes/gala events.

Although The Boma is a 250 seater restaurant, advance reservations are advisable. We suggest that you make reservations for The Boma when booking your Victoria Falls itinerary, as it is often fully booked
