Victoria falls is the adventure capital of Africa if not the world.

Adrenaline junkies will love it - bungee jumping, white water rafting, abseil, tiger fishing, game viewing, horse safaris and even elephant rides the list is almost endless

Most activities can be done from either side of the Zambezi river, Livingstone in Zambia or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

The prices do differ, border crossings and visas can be a problem and expensive, so it is wiser to land and stay on the same side as your preferred activities

Running marathons, whitewater rafting, kayaking, sky diving and other fun events held in Victoria falls annually

Differences between the two countries at Victoria Falls:

Activities:

- Lion walks are only done on the Zimbabwe side

- Quad bikes and Fishing are only done in Zambia

- Micro lights (engine behind) and tiger moth flights operate from Zambia

- Ultra lights (engine in front) and Float plane from the Zimbabwe side

- Most of Victoria falls can be seen from Zimbabwe but not from Zambia. (You can walk across the bridge to view from either side but must pay visa and entrance fees.)

- Night game drives and wilderness walking safaris are done from Zimbabwe

- Day trips to Chobe Park in Botswana are easier and cheaper from Zimbabwe

- Multi Day white water rafting trips are done on the Zimbabwe side

Costs:

- No VAT taxes are added on the Zimbabwe side, if pre-paid before arrival, but is included if payment is made inside the country.

- VAT is paid in Zambia, irrespective

Safety:

Politics has a minimal effect at this adrenaline junkies mecca. The local population are friendly on both sides of Victoria Falls and safety is not an issue on either side.
