Gunn's Main Camp
Gunn’s Camp overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering
the Moremi Game Reserve, and is one of the last few remaining luxury
vintage safari camps in the Okavango Delta.
Chiefs Island where your activities take place offers one the of largest
populations of African wildlife in the Delta area.
Sightings may include
lion , leopard , elephant , buffalo and packs of wild dog running across
the plains of the Delta.
The concession is also home to hippo , crocodiles , plains zebra and
a variety of buck, including the red lechwe.

Gunn's Camp is accessed by a light aircraft (generally a Cessna 206)
from Maun, the flight is approximately 20 minutes over the south-western
Delta.
It is also possible to fly from other areas of Botswana. |
Accommodation at Gunn's camp has 2 levels- A and B
Level
A
* 7 x luxury meru - style tents with en suite bathrooms
* A thatched elevated honeymoon chalet, set under leafy palms and African
Ebony, affording panoramic views of the Okavango Delta from a private
balcony
All tents have lighting provided by generated electricity.
Towels and a laundry service are included in your stay
Level B (Semetsi Camp)
« 8 X Permanently erected meru tents on raised wooden decks all
with sunset views and overlooking the Okavango
« Shared bathroom facilities with hot / cold showers and flush
toilets
« The lack of vehicles and electricity adds to it's atmosphere
of real African safari bush life
Meals
A light breakfast or full cooked breakfast is served to fit in with
your activities. Lunch and afternoon tea are served at the camp and
dinner will either be a three course meal in the dining room or a barbeque
dinner at the campfire. Picnic lunches can also be arranged. |

. There is a strict luggage restriction on the flight, 10kg plus hand
luggage, in soft manageable bags. (back packs, rucksacks, duffle bags
are highly recommended, please do not bring samsonite suitcases)
. Excess luggage can be stored in Gunn's camp, Maun office whilst you
are in the delta

The main activities are
- mokoro and sunset powerboat excursions (water
levels permitting) along the many nearby channels and lagoons,
- game
and bird walks on islands in the surrounding Okavango Delta.
The Okavango Delta has a myriad channels and lagoons to explore, a
delight for avid photographers and wildlife enthusiasts to view the
abundance of game and birdlife in the area
A Typical Day:
A light or full cooked breakfast is
served to fit in with your activities.
A morning activity is taken -
as planned with your guide / Camp Managers and return to camp for lunch
and a siesta.
It is also an
option to take a full day trip with picnic lunch if pre arranged
Afternoon tea is served, after which you can enjoy an
afternoon activity until sunset, where you return to camp as per the
regulations of Moremi Game Reserve.
A three course dinner in the dinning
room or a BBQ dinner at the campfire is served and the evening can be
enjoyed relaxing in the lounge or around the campfire
