ruins
Great Zimbabwe Monument is one of the country's greatest historical
and cultural attractions
30kms from Masvingo, Great Zimbabwe is Zimbabwe's premier
national monument. built ca. A.D. 1250, it sits atop a granite dome
that overlooks the 80 Hectare site
The Tower formed the corner of the fort which protected
early settlers. In later times the bell was rung when any danger threatened.
The tower is located in the town centre.

Italian Chapel (10 kms out of town on the Mutare Rd)
Built by Italian prisoners of war during WWW 2. Interred are the remains
of 71 Italians prisoners of war. Contains murals reminiscent of the
Sistine chapel
St. Andrews Chapel Above the impressive dam wall of Lake
Mutirikwi, stands the beautiful and smallest chapel in the country. The
Chapel was built by a former
water bailliff in memory of his daughter who was killed in a motor accident
and contains seven different types of minerals mined in the Masvingo district
Kyle Recreational Park
Located on the northern shores of Lake Mutirikwi and reached from the
Masvingo / Mutare road. Large variety of antelope including nyala, oribi,
tsessebe, eland, wildebeest, zebra, kudu, giraffe. Home to the white
rhino and game viewing can be undertaken either by car or Horse riding
which is a popular way to view game.
Lake Mutirikwi
Largest man-made lake within the country, huge attraction for fishing
and boating.
Breath taking views above the dam wall of the lake, game park and surrounding
area
Launching facilities are provided at Sikato Bay camping site
There is a cruise boat that operates on the Lake, offering early morning

Morgenster Mission & Finger Rocks
Found near Great Zimbabwe, the mission is known for its School for the
Deaf.
The World's View at Morgenster is one of the finest panoramas in Zimbabwe.
The Finger Rocks refer to two monoliths guarding the entrance to the
mission.
Murray MacDougall Drive
A scenic circular drive connecting Masvingo, Lake Mutirikwi and the
dam wall.
Mushandike Sanctuary
A wildlife sanctuary with a difference. Watch eland being milked and
buffalo being fed.
Muzhwi: This dam (near Mashava) offers good bass fishing.
Pioneer Cemetary
Some 10 kms from Masvingo containing many un-named Tombs symbolic of
those
whose life span was short in a then primitive country.
Providential Pass monument
The great scout/hunter Selous discovered Providential Pass after his
weary and exhausted column had hacked their way through thick wooded
lowveld and harassed by the Matabele impis on their way north.
Pokoteke Gorge
A deep sheer walled gorge cutting through the Beza Range.
Shanagashe Park
Travel from the town centre on the Harare Road for approx 5 kms.
This park is managed by the Wildlife Society of Zimbabwe. Attractions
include a variety of animals, good riverine birdlife, picnic spots,
interpretative centre.
In the dry season daily feeding programmes attract the Animals to a
viewing platform.
