Ruckomechi Camp- Mana pools

Ruckomechi Camp is situated on the western side of Mana Pools National Park, 40 km from Chirundu, overlooking the Zambezi River

Mana pools park is a remnant of the Zambezi floodplain.

This exclusive camp offers you an unrivalled and remote wildlife opportunity.

Predators including lion, wild dog and leopard are often sighted, and large concentrations of buffalo can be found along the river's edges. Kudu, zebra, impala and waterbuck can be seen on the surrounding plains.

Elephant take advantage of the area's plentiful albida trees and water from the swimming pool.

Bird-watching is excellent, with the river attracting large numbers of water birds. The grunting of Hippos can be heard all day.

The camp is shaded by a massive grove of acacia trees and has no fence allowing game to wander freely through it

A wooden viewing deck provides the perfect place for gazing at the Zambezi River and the mountains

Accommodation - luxury Chalets

Ruckomechi Bedroom

The camp sleeps 20 guests in 10 thatched chalets. Facilities are en-suite and include a shower, toilet and basin.

Ten twin, luxury rooms under thatch with ensuite facilities.

The honeymoon suite overlooks the Zambezi River and has an outdoor bath

- There are 9 - ¾ twin-bedded rooms which can be converted into king-sized beds

- 1 Family unit for 4 guests

- Tour leader accommodation for two in thatched chalet with en-suite facilities at the back of the camp.

This camp can accommodate 22 guests plus tour leader

The central dining, pub and lounge area is under cool thatch, on the river's edge, facing the escarpment

Game Viewing

Good lion and leopard sightings, many elephant, especially in winter, plenty of hippo, crocodiles and plains game. Nyala are also sometimes seen in the park. Birdlife is fantastic, with large numbers of waterbirds and a number of specials.
