Mwambashi River Lodge
Situated in the Lower Zambezi National Park directly opposite Chikwenya
Island and the eastern boundary of the Mana Pools in Zimbabwe.

The Lower Zambezi National Park is a relatively unexplored National
Park in Zambia
Home to large herds of elephant and buffalo and lion are common.
Regular plains game sightings include kudu, zebra, impala, warthog,
bushbuck and baboons
There are large pods of hippo in the river directly in front of the
lodge, as well as crocodile.

Age Restriction
The minimum age restriction at Mwambashi River Lodge is 15 years.
There is no maximum age restriction.
National Park Fees
National Parks Entry Fee of US$20.00 per person per night payable direct
in cash.
For those fishing, a National Parks fishing fee of US$5.00 per person
per day is levied.
Season
15 May : 31 October (closed during rainy season)
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Return air tickets
- Valid travel and health documents as well as travel and medical
insurance.
- Double entry visas for people requiring visas for re-entry into
Zimbabwe.
- Zambian visas can be obtained at all border posts on arrival at
an extra cost.
- Costs of visas and amounts of currencies that can be imported /
exported from Zimbabwe or Zambia do change.
Please check prior to commencement of the safari.

INSURANCE
Travel and medical insurance is COMPULSORY for all clients. Please
ensure you have arranged this insurance prior to leaving so as to cover
unexpected medical expenses and loss/theft of personal effects.

GETTING THERE
Transfers
Road and boat transfers
ex Kariba with stopover for tea, drinks and lunch at Chongwe Canoe Camp
(+/- 7 hrs).
Charter flights directly
into and out of Jeki airstrip

Please note that the National Parks landing fees at Jeki are for the
client's account
Departure times and meeting places
Clients requesting road and boat transfers to Mwambashi River Lodge
will be required to meet in Kariba at the Cutty Sark Hotel at 09.30
am.
Guests are required to overnight in Kariba the night before to avoid
clients being left behind (there is ONLY ONE transfer per day).
Customs and Immigration formalities are cleared on either side of the
Kariba Dam Wall and clients road transfer to the Kafue River (+/- 2
Hours).
A boat transfer down the Kafue River to the Zambezi Confluence and down
the Zambezi River to Chongwe takes +/- 1-hr 45 minutes.
Lunch is enjoyed at our Canoe camp on the Chongwe River before connecting
with a game drive to Mwambashi River Lodge (+/- 2 hours).
The most efficient and enjoyable access is to charter into Jeki Airstrip.
The strip is situated +/- 5 kilometres east of the lodge.
A charter service can be arranged and clients wishing to charter in
from or out to Lusaka, Mfuwe, Livingstone, Kariba or Harare, can do
so on request.
The charter will fly into Jeki airstrip.
Flight durations are as follows: -
Lusaka - Jeki +/- 25 minutes
Mfuwe - Jeki +/- 1 hour 10 minutes
Livingstone - Jeki +/- 1 hour 45 minutes
Harare (via Lusaka) - Jeki +/- 1 hour 45 minutes
