Kayila Lodge - Zambezi Holiday
Situated on Zambian side of the lower Zambezi river, 45km downstream
from Chirundu opposite Mana Pools National Park
Kayila Lodge (home of the elephant) is open year round
overlooks the Mana Pools shoreline.
A wildlife sanctuary with common sightings of elephant, buffalo, impala,
puku, bushbuck, kudu, zebra, warthog, baboon, hippo, crocodile and an
abundant species of birdlife.
Lion and hyena are regularly sighted on day and night game drives -
sometimes in the camp itself.

- twin bed stone under thatch chalets with en suite shower, toilet
and hand basin

All chalets have a veranda with deck chairs and a private view of the
river.

(Children U12 on request, on condition that parents are made fully aware,
that the lodge does have wild animals roaming around the grounds at

Tiger Fishing
The combination of riverine and escarpment habitats means that the
birdlife is prolific with over 350 species recorded in this area.
Getting There
1) Departures ex the Cutty Sark Hotel at 10h00. Road transfer to the
Kafue Pontoon,
boat transfer to Kayila Lodge.
2) By boat from Kafue Pontoon (self-drive clients only).
3) By road via Chirundu and the Kafue Pontoon to Zambezi Wildlife sanctuary
(for self drive clients only)
A charter service can be arranged and clients wishing to charter in
to Kayila Lodge or out to Lusaka, Livingstone or Mfuwe at the end of
their stay can do so on request.
The charter will fly into Kayila airstrip
Guest Requirements
- If travelling from Zimbabwe return air tickets or vehicle registration
particulars – if required.
- Valid travel and health documents (cholera and yellow fever recommended)
- Double entry visas for people requiring visas for re-entry into
Zimbabwe. It is advisable for all clients to check with the Zambian
authorities whether or not they need visas for Zambia, and if necessary
obtain their visas prior to departure.
- Advise us of any dietary requirements / allergies
