This is one of Africa's biggest and oldest parks with over 108 mammal species including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, white and black rhino, wild dog, cheetah, sable, eland, impala, jackal, warthog

Hwange has low rainfall so most animals are drawn to the man made waterholes, dams and boreholes, especially during the dry winter months.

    Hwange can be visited all year round. and is 2.5 hrs from Vic Falls by road

    Summer: August to April is hot peaking in September & October
    (November to February) is the rainy season and can be very warm, so be sure to bring cool clothing and raincoats

    The winter months (May to August) are dry which is good for game-viewing but make sure to bring very warm clothing / jackets for the night drives as the cloudless skies can reduce temperatures to zero at night. Daytime temperatures are wonderful

    Also don't forget to bring hats, sunscreen, bathing costumes, binoculars and cameras
