Hwange National Park-Zimbabwe

Hwange has amongst the highest diversity of mammals for any National Park in the world with over 108 species.

« A 482km network of game viewing roads leads the visitor to some large concentrations of game and not too many other tourists.

« Hwange is one of Africa's premier elephant strongholds. with lots and lots of elephants - 30000 of them, but they need to drink water twice a day. Hwange Park has little natural water and most of the water is pumped through boreholes into the pans and troughs

« Presently tourist numbers are low and the park is conveniently situated on the main road between Bulawayo and Victoria Falls

« Fuel shortages - Most lodges will store fuel for you if you let us know what type and how many litres are required, when you make your reservation.

There are three camps, Main Camp, Sinimatella and Robins Camp, where visitors can stay in lodges, chalets or campsites.

Despite a very poor economy and low visitor numbers, the camps are OK - a bit run down but you stay inside the park.

Current National Parks entry fees are USD20 per person per day for overseas residents & USD15 for Regional residents.
