Camp Amalinda, Matobo Hills

Camp Amalinda is tucked away into a old bushman's shelter in the Matobos Hills and offers African hospitality in cave type accommodation

Some of the most majestic granite scenery in the world is found in the Matobo Hills. Amalinda has gained an excellent reputation for its warm African hospitality and bushveld charm

It is here that the hopes, trials and tribulations of the San Bushmen are recorded in the ancient rock art

The lounge and entertainment area is tucked away into a Bushman shelter

A library contains some of the old `African Classics'

A chess room is located amongst the tree tops guaranteeing total tranquility

Accommodation

10 thatched chalets carved into the huge granite boulders, of the Matobo Hills including a romantic honeymoon suite.

Each has en suite facilities and a panoramic view of the hills.

Sundowners are enjoyed around a camp fire in the enclosed `boma' and there is even a natural cave wine cellar!

Meals are served on a teak table in the open air dining room

Facilities

At the base of the camp is a large swimming pool with comfortable loungers and a bar, all overlooking a waterhole.

A thatched health centre includes a fully equipped gymnasium with a sauna. A resident Beauty Therapist is available for massage, manicure and pedicure.

This is the perfect place to relax and absorb the setting.

Mammal and bird species are prolific and include the highest concentration of Leopard and Black Eagle in the world. Rhino in abundance
