Mashatu Game Reserve

Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana bordering South Africa and Zimbabwe offers upmarket lodges

Formerly known as the Tuli Reserve, Mashatu is named after the majestic Mashatu tree, the area comprises savannah plains, riverine forest, open marshland and rugged outcrops of sandstone.

Wildlife is diverse and includes: eland, elephant, lion, hyena, bat eared foxes, aardwolves, kudu, cheetah, giraffe, bushbuck, impala, steenbok and baboons.

Nocturnal sightings could reveal spotted genets, civets as well as leopard and lynx.

Over 350 bird species have been identified in the Mashatu area including rock thrushes, boulder chats, shrikes and cormorants, kingfishers and other waterbirds.

Game viewing is varied and includes adventure tourism with cycling, horse back riding, walking safaris as well as archaeological tours.

Age restrictions do exist and are applied in the interests of personal safety as well as the comfort of other guests.
No children under the age of 12 years are allowed at Mashatu Tent Camp.
