Semi- Luxury guided safari

The major difference between semi-luxury and luxury safari is that in semi you share ablutions and in luxury you have en-suite facilities

Semi-Luxury tent

SEMI - LUXURY GUIDED SAFARI

Accommodation

* Accommodation is in 3x3 m walk-in tents with mosquito proofing and sewn in groundsheets
* The tents are equipped with stretcher beds, foam mattress, pillows, sheets and blankets
* There is a hand basin provided outside each tent.
* There is one shower and one toilet for every four guests i.e for eight guests there will be two showers and two toilets. The bucket shower water temperature is regulated by the amount of hot or cold water mixed in the bucket. Guest can have it as hot or cold as they like it.

Staff

Semi-Luxury tent

* In addition to a professional safari guide who has had first aid training the staff complement consists of two camp assistants - a driver/cook and waiter/general hand who will possibly travel in a separate vehicle (if there are more that 4 guests)
* The camp assistants perform all camp chores such as setting up camp and the preparation of meals

Group size: Max 8 per vehicle

Meals and Drinks

* Three substantial meals per day are served, between planned safari activities
* Breakfast may be a full English breakfast or a quick cereal and coffee breakfast to fit in with game drives and early departures
* Brunch or lunch will consist of a main course, two salads, fresh fruit.
* Cake or biscuits are served at tea
* Dinners consists of three courses served with house wine
* Menus change daily and fresh produce is used
* Vegetarian or special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement
* Inclusive in the safari cost is house wine at dinner, bottled water, beer and soft drinks /cordials
* All other drinks (Spirits etc) are for the guest’s own account. These can be pre–ordered - the cost of which must be settled directly with the guide at the beginning of the safari. If you don’t want to pre-order we can stop at a bottle store on the first day of safari in order for you to purchase what you require.

Safari Vehicle

* The safari vehicle utilised is a custom fitted 4 x 4 vehicle that seats eight guests in individual seats

Activities

* A typical safari day usually consists of an early morning wake up call followed by a light breakfast before departing on a morning game drive that lasts until brunch/lunch time. The early afternoon is spent relaxing until tea time when it is time to depart on an afternoon game drive. At sundown return to camp for dinner under the stars.
* If the itinerary includes time in the Chobe National Park/Moremi Game Reserve – a boat cruise on the river will be included but at an extra cost.

Insurance

* In the event of a medical emergency, guests are covered by medical air rescue BUT It is imperative that guests take out their own fully comprehensive medical insurance to cover any hospitalisation or further treatment.
* Unfortunately we cannot accept any client who does not have this.
