Kubu Queen - Houseboat
Kubu Queen offers an exclusive fishing safari in the rich fishing
grounds of the Okavango delta panhandle - Botswana.
The Okavango Delta is fed by an estimated 11 billion cubic metres of
water
Here in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta where there is permanent
water all year round is where you will cruise on the Kubu Queen
Cruising mainly on the main Okavango River - the safari will also take
you along the smaller Boro and Nqoga Rivers

Accommodation
The Kubu Queen is a double decker houseboat.
Accommodation and galley are located downstairs.
The lounge and dining area upstairs.
The boat only sleeps a maximum of 6 guests in three rooms. . The boat
is chartered to one group at a time for their exclusive use. So privacy,
exclusivity, flexibility and remoteness are the key elements of this experience.

US$208 pppn (minimum 4 guests)
Fully Catered rate includes: Accommodation, all meals, tender boats, professional guide, crew and fuel for the houseboat.
Fishing equipment is on board for usage – guests charged for any lost/broken tackle/rods/reels.
Excludes fuel for the tender boats – fuel charged according to usage.
Excludes all beverages – a fully stocked bar is available on board.

The Fishing Experience
Fishing takes place in the main Okavango river - cruising the many lagoons
and papyrus fringes
As well as the famous tiger fish, there are also various species of largemouth
bream tilapia, nembwe and African pike making this area a fly angler's
paradise
Activities
* Game viewing is not the main highlight of this area but game walks
can be arranged on some of the larger islands.
You can expect to see: Elephant, Buffalo, Lion and all the big game.
* During normal cruising you will see Hippo, Crocodiles, Red Lechwe
and the rare and elusive Sitatunga antelope.
The Sitatunga's favourite food is one of the papyrus grasses (Cyperus
papyrus) found floating on the currents.
* This is also a spectacular area for bird enthusiasts with more than
350 species in the area including Pels Fishing Owl.
Getting There
The Kubu Queen is moored in a remote area. Arrival is via small plane
and then you will be transported up the Boro river to where your cruise
begins
