Avalon is a large pontoon houseboat on lake Kariba. Large fore and aft upper decks provide comfortable, well-shaded room to relax

Balustrades all round and gates at the stairwells provide added security for those with small children.

The lower deck has a swimming cage to ensure a croc-safe dip in the lake, as well as a splash pool

Avalon Cabin • three double/ twin cabinswith a toilet and shower en-suite,

• one single cabin

• Eight extra bunks are available on the upper deck, for those who wish to sleep in the open

• In the spacious saloon there are three couches that unfold into double beds

• Ablution facilities include two separate showers and two separate toilets on the lower deck and a toilet on the top deck

¤ Avalon has her own ice-maker. The water to the ice-maker runs through a filter first, so the ice produced is perfectly suitable for drinks..

¤ There are a number (approximately 30) of cd's available on the houseboat for use in the music system.

¤ 2 x Tender boats: A "Scud" which is a large pontoon vessel and a smaller tender oat.

Other

The crew consists of a captain, a chef and two boatmen.

The captain, is responsible for the safety of the boat, it's crew and passengers.

The chef, will keep you well fed throughout your stay.

The boatmen are willing to tend to your every need

All drinking water supplied on the boat is purified.

Moored: at Charara - 38 kms from Kariba

Boarding time: 12 Noon

Disembarking time is 10a.m

Rates on a wet boat basis- (Fuel Included)

Low Season - Rands 2 800 | approx US$400 per night
15th January - 15th March and during the months of June and November

Mid Season - R3 300 per night including all fuel
All other dates

High Season - R3 800 | approx US$500 per night
1st December - 14th January and 1st - 14th April 2007

Included:
Hire of houseboat and use of the tender boats Diesel for the motherboat and 20l p.d. tender boat petrol, 15% Sales Tax, 2% Tourism Levy, the services of crew, cutlery, crockery and linen.
