SIGHTINGS AT SPURWING

"On the 22nd of May2006 I was fortunate enough to take out some South Africans on a game drive where we witnessed a cheetah with 3 cubs making an abortive attempt to kill a waterbuck."

These cheetah are now being sighted regularly and the female appears to have picked up a companion recently.

On another day we had good game drives with the leopard being sighted and a dead hippo on the island providing spectacular viewing of lion verses crocodile fighting over the meal.

The Harbour
A safe harbour is available for guests bringing their own boats.
Fuel is available to purchase for these boats.
Boats are cleaned and stocked everyday as requested.
Deep freeze facility for fish storage.

The camp is surrounded by an electric fence which is operational 24 hours per day. This ensures the safety of guests at all times.

Hot water is provided by solar heating.
Electricity is 220V AC supplied by diesel generators.

Laundry facility available at a nominal charge.

A gift shop is available which contains essentials such as sun cream, camera film, hats, T-shirts, postcards, etc.

There is a swimming pool which has a ringside view of the lake.

Paths to the rooms are illuminated at night.

A LIGHT HEARTED LOOK at some happenings on Spurwing

The 8th of June 06 saw the much anticipated start of the Air Rally with 20 aircraft landing safely at Fothergill and were shown to the bush bar with little resistance.

Saturday was to be a rest day so the Ndarama houseboat was loaded with people and liquid refreshments and headed out for a cruise.

Not long into the cruise the guests worse fears were realised ...... the gin had run out.
Amid the groans and wails a competent and realistic woman did what she had to do.

A frantic SOS was sent out and the said Gin was helicoptered out to the boat.
