Bushbuck Bushcamp is set high above the Chongwe River on glorious red cliffs. The walk entails a more leisurely walk from one safari camp to another
Bushbuck bushcamp is really a fly-camp, designed simply for people who love the wilderness and walking, and don't particularly need the comforts of a plush safari camp – it's ideal for a few days of pure walking in the Lower Zambezi.
A 2 night stay here combined with 2 or 3 nights at Chongwe River Camp makes a perfect Lower Zambezi visit combining the delights of the Zambezi River with a walking safari through a true wilderness, woodland area.
Bushbuck’s location is hidden in the foot hills and guests can look forward to exploring the unexplored – waterfalls, caves, pools and exquisite views from the escarpment down to the valley floor.
Accommodation
Takes up to 6 people at a time, staying in tents with en-suite facilities, including bucket showers, and uses romantic paraffin 'tilly' lamps for light.
Away from Chongwe River Camp and from the main buzz of the Lower Zambezi, Bushbuck Bushcamp offers guests a vintage safari experience for groups of up
to 6 people
A few nights out at Bushbuck can be combined with a stay at Chongwe River Camp or Chongwe House -
do take advantage of this unique safari experience.
Birdwatching:
Bushbuck camp offers a real contrast in birdlife to the river-side
floodplain of the Lower Zambezi. A lot less water birds, but many more
more miombo bird-parties.

Wildlife:
Although in the heart of a very little-visited area of the Lower Zambezi National Park, Bushbuck Camp isn't really about seeing big game – it's more about walking in a wilderness area, and looking for the more esoteric animals likely to be in the hills: from roan antelope to perhaps even klipspringers.
