Mopane Canoe Safari

Expeditionary Trails -

Dawn wake up with tea/coffee and rusks. Camp is packed into canoes and we set off. These early morning paddles make for easy distance when the wind is calm and the sun not too hot. A shady spot will be found for breakfast. After breakfast paddling continues until stopping for lunch and mid day siesta. Set off again for the night spot and camp reached about 5pm. Canoes unloaded, camp set and dinner cooked. Mana Shoreline Special trails – our staff takes care of all the camp set up and loading, guests just enjoy the day section on the river, stopping for lunch, walks or a siesta along the Mana shoreline. Camp will have been set up at our designated night stops.

Nyamatusi Trail

A diverse trail covering many different sectors of the river, ending at Illala on the eastern boundary of Mana Pools.
Nights are spent on islands.

Canoes

Canadian style two man 18ft canoes with seats, backrests and single bladed paddles.

Canoes are stable and can carry up to 400 kg.

Provided are 2-man mosquito proof tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, small pillows, stools, tables, lighting, gas stoves, kitchen
utensils and cooler boxes.

There is no ablution facilities provided on these trips and
bathing is done by bucket and toilet visits with a shovel and box of matches!

Rates 2013

US$ 725 per person

Includes all equipment, all meals, cordials, minerals, limited beers (1 crate per day), wine with dinner, services of a fully qualified Professional walking and river Guide, and transfers from Kariba or Makuti.

Excluded are National Parks fees, transfers not mentioned above, other alcoholic beverages and mineral water

This safari runs from April to October
