Zambezi Elephant Trails offer a unique bush walk with these gentle giants. Guests walk with their guides through pristine scenery as the elephants go about their day roaming free in the bush to browse, play, socialize and sometimes swim. These magnificent animals offer guests a privileged glimpse into a day in the life of an African Elephant. Guests are able to meet and learn about Elephants as well as the African bush. The guides work exclusively with the Elephants and are also well versed in local folklore, bush medicine and indigenous flora and fauna Trip Information
Upon arrival at Zambezi Elephant trails clients are greeted with a welcoming chilled drink (tea or coffee during the winter months), after which a safety brief is conducted whilst an Indemnity is passed around and signed. The elephant’s history is regaled before our magnificent creatures are called to meet the awaiting clients. During this period clients are encouraged to feed, touch and examine these wonderful animals, all under the safety of professional elephant handlers / keepers. Photography is encouraged during this once in a lifetime chance to get a “close-up” feel of the African Elephant, whilst the guides give an informative talk on the relationship between African Elephants and mankind. The interaction period lasts approximately 30mins after which a sumptuous lunch comprising of a selection of salads and cold meats is served accompanied by refreshments. Age Restrictions There is no upper age limit. Whilst the minimum age limit is 8yrs. Guardians of Minors (under 18) will be required to sign an indemnity form on behalf of the minors. A Guardian must accompany children under the age of 18 throughout the trip. Health Requirements There are no specific health requirements for this activity, and physical disabilities will be considered on an individual basis. If a guest has any medical condition such as epilepsy, diabetes or dangerous allergies etc, please ensure that Zambezi Elephant Trails is informed at the time of booking.
