DAY 1Nyamepi Camp is set on the Zambezi River. This spot is approximately seven hours out of Harare by road or alternatively can also be reached by chartered flight. Briefed by the guide at about 1400 hours as to canoeing and safety procedures, you will launch onto the Zambezi River with our experienced river guides and canoe 13 kms along this wide channeled part of the Lower Zambezi to the first overnight stop. DAY 2After an early morning rise, the trail continues past islands, reed beds and sand bars where elephant,hippos and abundant birdlife can be seen. The distance covered this day is 28 kms before stopping overnight at Nyamautsi. DAY 3Today guests canoe into the Zambezi River's main stream and will approach the Chewore Safari Area. Guests canoe 25 kms this day following the river as it winds its way between mountains on one side and plains on the other. The over night stop is near the Chewore River Mouth. DAY 4
Guests will canoe 9 kms in the early morning to the Chewore River Mouth on the Zambezi River where the trail ends You will begin your return journey out of the Zambezi Valley - game viewing is often good on your way out Wild animals don't fear the silent canoes elephants never charge into water as they don't feel threatened from there
