A four night/five day, adventurous canoe safari through the flood
plains of the middle Zambezi River encompassing
game drives, both day and night, a walk and a visit to a traditional
fishing village.

Getting There
- Starting Point
Itinerary for 5 in 1 Zambezi River Run
DAY ONE
Meet 10.30am Chirundu or 11am Gwabi.
Guide briefing followed by light lunch, canoeing orientation.
Canoe through to evening Camp, effectively a half day canoeing.
This 14km canoe paddle is primarily used to familiarize one’s
self with the canoe.

DAY TWO
Canoeing starts early after morning tea/coffee and biscuits
Depart Island camp for downstream breakfast stop at approx 08:30
Continue though to shaded lunch stop from approx 12:30 to 14:30 out
of mid day sun.
Proceed to mainland fly camp for overnight canoeing stop (Kayila Fly
Camp)
Dinner followed by an evening game drive at around
20:00/21:00

DAY THREE
Early tea / Coffee followed by approx 2 hour walk.
6.30 - 8.30am
Return to Camp for Breakfast 9.30am
Depart for village Tour 11am to 12.30pm
Picnic lunch on the Zambezi escarpment over looking the Zambezi Valley
Game drive back to Camp before a short canoe trip
to to Mtondo Island
Overnight : Mtondo
Island.
DAY FOUR
Early tea /Coffee & biscuits
Full day Canoeing to end of canoeing safari.
Return to Fly Camp for breakfast at approx 8am
Depart Camp 9 – 10am for full day canoeing.
Arrive at Kayila Fly Camp at approx 17:00
Overnight at Kayila
Fly Camp
DAY FIVE
Early morning tea/coffee & biscuits
Early morning bush drive back through Game Management
Area passing traditional villages and school en-route.
Return transfers
By road to Gwabi 3hrs
Optional extra Drop off Royal airstrip 30 min road
transfer
Optional extra Boat transfer to Gwabi 1hr
