Zambezi Canoe & Game Safari

safari in the Lower Zambezi National park for 3 days / 2 nights exploring and experiencing this truly wilderness region of teeming wildlife, beautiful scenery and fascinating birdlife.

ITINERARY

DAY 1
Leave Lusaka Airport about 14:00 and head to the Lower Zambezi Game Management Area - this is about a 40 minute flight.

You are met by the guide and transferred to the camp. After settling in to the camp, there is the option of a sunset river cruise or just relax in the camp and watch the sunset from the bar.

DAY 2
We’ll get up early and after breakfast, head off for a mornings canoe safari. We will head for the Chifungulu Channel, where we will be met by our game viewing car for lunch. Lunch is spent at a safe and scenic location, where we spend a couple of hours here out of the heat just relaxing and watching the game as they come down to drink from the river.
After lunch we do an head off for an afternoons game drive. The cool of the afternoon is a good time to spot the predators, as they prefer to hunt in the cooler parts of the day. Arriving at a great sundowners spot to watch the Sunset. We then go on an hour or so night drive keeping our eyes open for the night hunters, such as Lion and Leopard as well as many other nocturnal such as Porcupine, Civet and Genet, returning back to our camp for dinner.

DAY 3
Up early again for a two or three hour game walk in the Game Management Area, the game walk is a great experience, our guide and armed scout show us how to identify different types of spoor and droppings, also they’ll teach you about the medicinal and spiritual uses of the many different plants and trees. We leave about 10:00 for our return trip to Lusaka, stopping at an island for lunch and arrive back in Lusaka at about 17:00.
