What to Pack

Packing guide for canoe safari expeditions

PERSONEL REQUIREMENTS

Clients are asked to please keep their luggage down to a maximum +/-7kg.

Excess baggage and valuables can be kept safely at our office and collected on your return.

Appropriate shirts, shorts, trousers etc in bush colors (preferably khaki, greens or browns). Long sleeve cotton shirt suggested for fair skinned including a light cloth to cover bare legs in summer.

Comfortable shoes (preferably worn in) they will get wet.

Warm clothing for winter months June, July and August as early mornings and evenings including something warm to sleep in, as it can be quite chilly.

Prophylactics, sun block, insect repellent, personal toiletries and medications

Binoculars, camera, flashlight, spare batteries

Valid travel and health documents.

PACKING GUIDE - What to bring on your canoe safari

Luggage: Maximum of 7kgs per person on multi-day safaris

Warm clothing for winter mornings and evenings being June, July and August
A light fleece, jersey or tracksuit and warm socks
Shirts / shorts, swimming costume and T-shirts are sufficient, long sleeves for the fair skinned. ( Neutral coloured clothing- khaki, green, brown, no camouflage)

Footwear: Comfortable shoes (preferably worn in) they will get wet.

Equipment: Cameras, binoculars. Recharging facilities at office

Customs: Valid travel and health documents.

Optional: Fishing equipment & bait may be arranged on request

Rain gear is necessary from November to March - a lightweight poncho works well
A minimal amount of money is required on the trip - you may wish to purchase extra alcohol, sweets etc. en route.

* Arrangements can be made for the safe-keeping of passports, credit cards/cash and excess baggage at the offices
